Meet Dr. Mulkin

Dr. Lisa Mulkin was born and raised in Wellsville, NY. From the age of nine, she knew that she wanted to be a dentist. She attended SUNY Geneseo and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went to SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2002.

Dr. Mulkin completed her general practice residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Care Center in Syracuse, NY. She then worked for a general dentistry practice in Dayton, OH, and, after relocating to Rochester, spent five years at Elmwood Dental Group. Dr. Mulkin is President of the Ontario Country Dental Society, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, and is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), New York State Dental Society, Seventh District Dental Society Board Member, Academy of General Dentistry and Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. She also has received continuing dental education from Spear Study Club and The Dawson Academy – a postgraduate educational and clinical research facility.

Dr. Mulkin seeks to understand the whole patient and not to react to just a single dental problem or concern. Because she comes from a family of educators, her patient care philosophy centers on patient education and co-diagnosis. This assures the patient has a solid understanding so they can choose the direction of their own dental health care. Since the health of your mouth is connected to the overall health of your body, Dr. Mulkin understands the comprehensive nature of every case and takes into consideration all the variables to present the best treatment options for the patient.

Dr. Mulkin enjoys the outdoors and her interests include hiking, nature photography (which is displayed throughout the office), bird watching, gardening, hot air ballooning, and making maple syrup—ask her, she may even let you taste test. She is married to Dr. Joshua Souweine, also a dentist, and they have one child.
